Dynaco PAT-5 solid-state stereo preamplifier in the original pre-BI-FET black-pushbutton configuration. Introduced in 1974, the PAT-5 serves as a control center for a separate power amplifier and offers dual phono inputs, tuner and auxiliary source selection, two tape circuits, and an external processor loop. The brushed-gold front panel includes volume, balance, bass and treble controls; low- and high-frequency filters; stereo/mono selection; tone-control defeat; A/B speaker selection; and a headphone jack. The rear panel provides left- and right-channel RCA connections, dual audio outputs, tape connections, speaker and amplifier binding posts, switched and unswitched convenience outlets, and an attached power cord.
